Bare Escentuals Genuine Jade Beauty Duo

Bare Escentuals has a new all over face and body powder available for Spring entitled Genuine Jade. This is the 3rd in a series of Body/Face Shimmers they have created lately. I happen to own the first one they created which was the Rose Gossamer Powder.

These are actually pretty good however the Jade isn't particular catching my fancy after I swatched it at Sephora. It's a golden powder with deep touches of off green. To me it's not particularly flattering for the face or the body!

The price is not really catching my eye either at $39 USD I believe I purchased the original Rose Powder for $28 USD (same kit, size, with the brush!).

As you've heard me rant in previous posts BE lately has been quite nutty with the price jacks!

I think I can safely skip the Genuine Jade Powder and spend my $39 on something else!

If you're wanting this it's available now from Sephora, Click!

Love it?

Hate it?

I really liked the rose one didn't you?

The price is insane a bit. Is it me or did we pay like $28 bucks for the rose one?!

It was same size, same brush style, etc....I'm either going nuts or BE has been slowly jacking it's prices!

Everyone's jacking up their prices, Musey, and we're the one's getting jacked!

I tried this, liked it, but didn't like the price. Plus, unless you mix this with moisturizer, or the like, it can look too dry and ageing. Might as well buy Bare Radiance instead, as it's less green.

damn the war!

;)

I didn't like it so much myself. The green and gold I wasn't loving. Nice for green looks but not so great if you're going with pinks and such.

Skippy for me!

There are a zillion ways I would like to improve my body, but having a golden green cast to it is not one of them! Wicked is my favorite book/musical but I have limits - lol.

Critty :-)

I am surprised they would come up with a green toned powder. Green is universally unflattering, when it is cast off your skin, IMO. It makes you looks sick!

hey nicole!

Happy monday! Nice to see you ;)

Agreed. The general idea of green kinda makes me wonder. The swatch I took looked ok but I'm not sure I'm completely sold :P

Hello my friend!

I apologize for not stopping by earlier. I've been away on travel again and insanely busy at work.

I actually got this powder as a birthday present. Happily it's not green. It's a gold-pink with a metallic finish. The shimmer and frost is more intense than the rose gossamer or diamond release. The powder alternates between looking more gold or pink depending on the light.

It kind of reminded me of a MSF rather than a gossamer. I like it for adding a touch of shimmer glow for the spring. I agree $39 is high for BE.

Hope all is well! Hugs!

p.s. I forgot to write this (obviously I need sleep or caffeine). I haven't noticed any green shimmer or tone to it but I do believe it could shimmer green depending on the light. In daylight it happily looks gold-pink.

hello miss betsy :)

Please don't apologize :) I know busy :)

I get a green from it when I swatched..sorta of metallic greeny gold. I'm very intrigued it shows up gold pink for you!

I recall purchasing the rose for $28-29 am I nuts?

hmmm if it shows gold pink in the sun I'll be all over it. In store it appeared very earthy green with a gold undertone...hmmm!

Stop creating lemmings evil girl!
hehe!

Hi again,

I do recall Rose Gossamer was a lot cheaper. Hm...maybe the tester at Sephora was off? I'll try to take a photo of a swatch in the sun when the sun decides to peek out again.

he he...it's payback for the Laneige lemmings you've created for me. =D
