Heath Ledger Broke?!
I was shocked to hear that Heath Ledger has a total of $100,000 to his name. I'm left wondering how the hell that's possible?
According to a news article on Yahoo the Brokeback Mountain star has a total of $100,000 in various bank accounts, a $25,000 car, and about $20,000 in furniture and home fixtures. He's not in dept but he wasn't exactly doing so great.

The man's mad 23 films or so and he only squirreled away $100,000? Granted many of the films he's starred in are Indie however he has been in some seriously silly Hollywood flicks...he had to be paid something for those right?

Actually they were just talking about his NY assets (US). That estimate did not include his total wealth which is all based back at his home country of Australia. He has property and banks accounts there.

Did he really spend all the money he earned? wow.
But maybe he had donated his money to charity or something...anyway - weird!
Assuming HL hadn't frittered away his funds on drugs and hookers (er, I mean 'masseuses'), and accounting for the share of his money that went to agents, publicists, accountants, etc... Heath might, possibly have stored part (or much) of his funds in an offshore account, thus making it look as if he wasn't as well off as we assumed. He might not have disclosed these assets in his will, but his survivors would be entitled to claim these funds should they and the institution be contact. Occam's Razor being what it is, it's certainly possible that Heath simply wasn't as well off as we assumed.
Speaking of hookers and shockers, what do you make of the Spitzer debacle?

All the blogs and articles I've read proclaimed him broke as smoke but it's possible it's squirreled offshore somewhere.
From what I understood none of it was left to his daughter so I can only assume his immediate family (mum, dad) are getting it!?

Honestly it's not about hookers or moral for me. I've nothing against hookers. I'm free thinking I say make paid sex legal.
ah let him do what he wants. I could care less about the man's personal life in all honesty. I don't see how paying for sex prevents him from being an honest person. So what he's kinky as the rest of the population!

Somehow I'd always assumed it was the other way around; no one would touch those freaky looking Olsens, and thus the poor girls would have to pay for sex. They certainly can afford to (Mary Kate is the kinky one, I assume; she probably makes her partners dress up as Ashley, or something). They were creepy before the plastic surgery, but they're even freakier after the fact.
I couldn't agree more. The need to legalize, regulate and tax prostitution aside, I really think this matter is between Spitzer, his wife, and their three fugly children, not between Spitz and the New York Assembly, etc. There's certainly no need to impeach him or for him to resign. Yes, he broke the law and yes, he's a hypocrite who formerly went after prostitution rings (competitors of the Emperors' Club VIP, I can only assume), but he's done a great deal of good for the people of NY (and the country, by default, esp. during his tenure as Attorney General).
I think Spitzer was set-up by his enemies in both the federal government and in business. The whole thing smells fishy to me.
Oh yes, and I think Elliot Spitzer is hot. I'd pay HIM! On second thought, no I wouldn't; he's probably got knob-rot from that 'Kristen' girl. He'd damn well better give me a discount.
Nahh there's no way he only has $100k? I mean he must have been paid a pretty penny just for Batman, and what about royalties to come from the film and merchandise etc. etc. He might have the rest in property and accounts abroad. You can't blow THAT much on drugs, can you?!?!

He probably never got round to changing his will - you don't think you are going to die at twenty something, do you? Hmm if his parents have any sense they will put it away for little Matilda's future.

I agree 100% he's done a great deal for New York and he was damn good at what he was doing. So he made a personal mistake within his life that has no effect over anything that is ongoing at his job. Fact is he spent that amount of money over the course of 10 years or more. They are making it out as if he's a sex maniac.
It's a possibility as it seems somehow too fishy how it all went down!
