Dior Extreme Fix Powder

What if I told you that for $44 USD you could have a silky, transparent powder that you'd brush on your face to make your foundation last all day long.

Would you buy it?

I've personally never run across a powder that allows my foundation to last more then say mmm 5 hours or so.

Of course I should mention that I don't wear a full foundation face. Lucky enough I don't need full coverage so my basic routine consists of T-Zone application. I use cream foundation so a swipe of foundation down either slide of my nose, on the corners of my chin, and across my upper lip (due to shadows on my skin found on my upper lip line and chin area) is all I need to look very fresh.

I set my foundation with either loose powder or MAC's Mineralized Skinfinish. Done. Not much to my routine.

However, I do notice I need a fresh up within 2-3 hours and by the time hour 5 strikes I'd say my foundation is pretty much gone along with my blush, lipstick, etc...

Behold my new solution for bullet proofing my foundation:

Meet Dior's Extreme Fix Powder. I seen this little gem a few months ago on Nordies website and honestly it held little appeal as its promise of making my foundation long lasting seemed empty and meaningless! I've tried powders before how could this be different!?

Recently I came across this on one of my readers blogs and her review created an intense lemming for the powder. I soon found myself feverishly googling for more reviews on the product. I came across the powder on MUA with a rating of 5.0! Bloody hell I've never seen much of anything get 5.0!

Every review I've run across is a rave about how well this simple, clear powder creates an amazing shield against the elements and your face so your foundation lasts all freaking day long!

$44 USD is not much to spend if this means my makeup will last all day!

The moral of the story is Dior Extreme Fix Powder is on my hit list and I'll be reviewing it shortly!

Believe you me if it works it'll get a double Muse Approved Stickering!

Click here to read all about it on Divalicious Glamazon!

If you're an MUA'er click here to read the raving reviews!

Dior Extreme Fix Powder is exclusive to Nordies so if you're wanting it you'll need to head over there to get some!

Tried it?
Love it?
Want it?

Hmmm... I've long been looking for a successor to my beloved Pout Translucent Loose Powder. I thought I found it in my MSF Natural, but it couldn't keep my makeup from sliding off my face. I think it's less a setting powder than a luminizing powder.

According to MUA, the Dior powder is silicone based; it seems like the loose version of Suqqu's mind-boggling clear pressed powder.

I'm intrigued by this, but judging by the ingredients list it doesn't seem all that great for sensitive skin. *snorts* Yeah, like that'll stop me...

Ooh! I want it too :)
I haven't seen this before, so thanks for sharing! I wonder if it matters what your skintype is. I have oily/combo so most things don't really last all day for me either. Definitely let me know if this works for you!

this sounds too good to be true! I always seem to need to touch up my makeup during the day (though I rarely do, since I don't have to interact with too many people) and this would be a blessing...I'm now very curious about this product...

hi MandyPandy!

Are the kids ok? I haven't seen them in weeks and they refuse to talk to me. Something about how I abused mummy...what have you been telling them ;)

I currently use Morgen Schick loose powder and it sets well but it doesn't last more then 4-5 hours tops :(

Yes, silicon intrigues the muse ;) I never tried Suqqu's clear pressed powder! Now me wants. Is it cheaper? Actually Suqqu is so off the walk popular but I've never bothered.

Oh shoot I'm not sensitive so it won't bug me! You can slap battery acid on my face and it wouldn't be a problem ;)

Hey SwaV!

me too me too! You're most welcome plus it's not all that expensive. Not as expensive as some Dior that i!

I'm wondering about whether or not I can use it with a cream foundation as everyone that's raved about has been using it in conjunction with a liquid foundation!

So not sure about oily/combo. I'm a dry in winter and an oily in summer so I'm curious too!

I'll definately review it ;)

Hi Lil,

Me too! Want big time! Definitely will do a before and after shot! Curious if it's any good. It's gotten some seriously rave reviews. Hmm! I wish Nordies would have a reviewer system that'd be awesome so we can hear more thoughts on it!

Hope your V-day was awesome!

hi mayaari!

Agreed. I'll probably get it and hate it ;)

I rarely touch up myself I think mostly b/c I'm so disappointed with the results. When you first apply it looks pristine and as the day goes by and you touch up it just doesn't look the same! I can never recapture the freshness of my look ;)

If it works it's every girl's dream product!

Thanks for pimping me out Muse.

I've got combo/oily skin though i lean more toward oily skin. I'm also sensitive to things but so far i haven't had any problems with it.

I've had the powder on my face now for about 7 hours. It's still on as i type and everything looks intact except from my nose which is beginning to have some shine.

I usually don't touch up my face as its way too much effort for me and being that i break out easily, i try to limit the amount of times i touch my face with anything.

Exactly what effect what sillicone have on the skin as i never seem to check ingredients? Hmm...

Unfortunately, i don't own a camera if not i'd have taken some pictures of a before and after. I'll see if i can nick someone camera over the weekend so you all can see what it looks like.

Hmm sounds like there could be something here...I love dior for their eye shadows so maybe it's not so surprising for another one of their powder products to be so hyped. I'll keep an eye out for this when I need to replace my setting powder. Thanks for giving us a heads-up!

luv, Grayburn

hey Allysia!

My pleasure. Visit your site often and my last few visits this definately caught my eye and put me in want mode!

I've got combo skin myself but lucky not sensitive.
7 hours? That's amazing fix. I hope it works that well for me! It'll totally be a staple if it makes my foundation and blush last that long!

I just feel like I don't get the same effect during touchups which sucks.

To be completely honest I'm awful about paying attention to what's going on my face sometimes so silicone..not sure! *blush*

I'd love to see before and afters! I'm definately getting this to try for myself as your review has totally made me curious!

Hey Gez!

O no! My sis has uber oily as well! Allysia was saying she has a combo with some oily and it worked well for her. It's worth a shot. I don't mind the price tag if it actually works for me!

Hi Yamie!

I love Dior too ;) The packaging revamp on the compacts and powders is very nice. I was a tad disappointed that it was heavier for the Spring line though!

Thanks for the comment ;)

Hugs!
