Solution For Great Hair Days, Detox with Baby Shampoo!
Sometimes the simple products work the best.
You may have read in my past posts or in my most recent review that my hair is silicon free. My hair for the most part is free of silicons thanks to Lush hair care. Although Lush does an AMAZING job of keeping my hair clean, beautiful, and bad hair day free I do occasionally want to be extra gentle to my locks while adding in a bit of silicon as sometimes my hair craves that extra weight and moisture that silicon products provide. That's when I reach for a simple product that won't break the bank, works really well, and doesn't load my hair up with a ton of build up!
My god, what is this amazing product that keeps your hair gorgeous Muse?
Baby Shampoo.
It's cheap, it smells beautiful, and it'll give you some sincerely great hair days.
Serious.
Since most brands of kids and baby shampoo hair care are made extra gentle and do not contain as many silicons and harsh ingredients as regular shampoo does it's the perfect solution for getting your hair super clean, gives great condition and moisture, and is super gentle on your locks without causing serious build up.
Since babies and kids have such fine hair they need something gentle to take care of their hair without causing breakage and buildup thus many brands including the popular Johnson & Johnson line create various hair care solutions that are catered towards children.
Although I'm sure I'll get hell for this from everyone I do admit to washing my hair every single day. Yes, I do. I just don't feel clean if I haven't scrubbed my hair up. My hair always behaves amazingly well thanks to a combination of using Lush and baby shampoo.
At the moment my must have kids shampoo is L'Oreal Kids Extra Gentle 2 in 1 Kangaroo's Mangoroo Shampoo. Hey...sue me..I like Dr. Seuss what can I say?
In all seriousness I really dig the smell. It's a sweet, fruity scent that's really lingers well so much so that people next to me will ask what I washed my hair with or what am I wearing. The formula is super gentle and moisturizing even for someone like me with wavy, curly hair that's extremely long.
I switch my Lush shampoos and conditioners for this twice a week and my hair always seems to thank me for adding it into the mix of things. I find I have less frizz, better manageability, a beautiful scent, plus my hair fairly squeaks it's so clean!
So the Muse's moral of this story is that baby and kids shampoo is super cheap and works super well at keeping your hair in beautiful condition!

I'll certainly have to give that a shot. I too, shampoo my hair everyday. My hair is naturally curly, so if I wear it naturally, it tends to get bigger and bigger throughout the day. If I wear it straight, I have to weigh it down to keep it down and then it will be greasy feeling by nightime. So, shampooing daily is a MUST for me. I never thought of using baby shampoo, but I'm definitely going to give it a try! =]

Amen! Someone else who shampoos daily :-) I get terrible rants about that from both my hair dresser and my friends.
I'm naturally wavy/curly as well so it it gets major frizz alert when I am not taking proper care of it.
You should detox and clarify it with some lush and after try using baby shampoo two or three times a week. You'll notice less split ends, your hair will be softer, and you won't notice as much buildup and oil!

When I had hair down to my waist, I had to wash it every day, otherwise it felt icky. Once I cut my hair to above my shoulders, and started sporting lots of short pixie cuts, I would only wash my hair like once a week. Right now, with my hair in a bob that barely grazes my shoulders, I'm having to wash my hair two or three times a week. Whatever works for you and makes you happy is what you should do.
I think it's funny you mention the baby shampoo, because it really is good stuff. Of course, I recently had baby shampoo recommended to me by a friend as makeup remover. Speaking of, I'll be trying the Sephora eye makeup remover in waterproof tonight. Yay!

I too wash my hair daily (and blow dry it, and use a flat iron on it!). My hair gets to oily to not wash it daily!

I think when it's shorter it prob needs only once or twice a week shampooing but longer hair feels like more work :P
As a makeup remover? Interesting!!!! I should try that! ;) It's truly great stuff..no build up in the hair which is fab as far as I am concerned!

I don't blow dry or flat iron but I can totally relate to washing daily. It's an absolute must for me otherwise I just feel gross :P

Yep, and even my eyes could handle the baby shampoo ok. It was just a bit odd, because I'm so used to the Almay pads that using a cotton ball seemed strange. However, I have some round cotton pads to try with the Sephora stuff tonight (the same sort of round ones that I use to remove nail polish actually).

What decorative diva said is true...the last time I went to visit my eye doctor I was told to use baby shampoo. I did, and the shampoo did a pretty good job at removing my eye makeup plus...no tears, of course!
Just wet your eyes, lather up some of the shampoo in your hands and give it a try! :)

I'm having an uber busy but good day.
I had the haagenbath bath bomb (mint and chocolate). I thought last night that it might have given me a rash, but luckily it turned out to be a heat rash. Curse my sensitive skin!
The Cotton pad things I have are for facial stuff, they're just round flat pads, not cotton balls. So they seem to work better than a cotton ball. I'll look for cotton squares.
The brush is awesome. It feels dense like the MAC 187 brush I checked out (when I was debating the purple color form advanced brush set), and I'm glad that I decided to get the AL brush and not the MAC set.
I'm eagerly awaiting the Snow Fairy.

My brush collection is mostly MAC and Sonia Kashuk brushes, though I do have some e.l.f. brushes, Meow Cosmetic brushes, Aromaleigh brushes, and a few from Michael's Arts and Crafts store, as well as some Maybelline and Max Factor brushes.
I'm really lovin' the quality of the AL FOBB. It makes me want to buy more of hers.
Also, another brush that I love so much that I had to buy another was the Sonia Kashuk little bent brush for thin lining (for gel liners or mineral makeup). That thing is awesome.

I've been really surprised by how much I like the Sonia Kashuk stuff, and a few of the e.l.f. brushes. I almost prefer my e.l.f. blending brush over my MAC one, as the MAC one doesn't seem to blend as well for me.

Yes, the FOBB is perfect with color. I just need to practice my application technique more. I was always afraid of blush because my mother wore WAY too much (we're talking clown cheeks), and I could never figure out how to really apply it properly for the longest time. Even now, I still feel like it's guesswork.
Some of the elf are good. I have their spoolie (I think it's called) and a few of their angled e/s brushes and large foundation brush. Yeah, you can't go wrong for $1.
Lol, I won't have too much fun, but I'll certainly be dressed up for the occasion.
Lan parties are fun! The last one I threw was a lingerie lan party :P We had 17 people, 8 of which were girls, and I think all of us were playing World of Warcraft or the Matrix Online or City of Heroes.

HA! We theme our lans too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you always theme? ;) Last one I went too was Hawaiian themed..so totally corny shirts for the guys :)
I don't always theme, but most of the parties that my friends throw are themed. It just gives me and excuse to pull out costumes ;)
I'll take pictures. Since this one is asian themed I'm wearing a little asian dress I have, along with a corset, and tall boots. This is provided I can find them in my closet. If not, my back up is a really long custom made skirt with coordinating top.
