Sephora's Summer 2008 Catalog: Calender Girls
Sephora hasn't yet updated it's site but the new catalog is making it's way into your mailbox shortly (or it may already be there! Go check!).
I love the Calender Girl theme! Very cute! The catalog opens as a calender would and contains some very interesting bits and pieces of cosmetic yum! I haven't been this excited about a Sephora catalog in a very long time but props for such an interesting theme this year! Bravo!
A few things that caught my eye within the pages:
Smashbox Oasis Shadow and Liner Quad $30 USD
Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Bronze Collection $35 USD
Sephora Summer Safari Palette in Zebra $26 USD
Even though the catalog didn't contain a ton of cosmetic lemmings I still happily flipped through the pages in excitement as it was so very well done!
I am very pleased with this theme and it's made me crave a few products inside! Well done! This season the Sephora Catalog gets a Muse Seal of Approval!

I got my catalog yesterday and I loved the calendar concept too. I want to try the Kat von D collection and the Oscar Blandi stuff since I travel a lot.
They should have made Miss. June the cover model, she's the pettiest.
Miss Covergirl looks kinda like Hilary Swank in drag -you know, when Hilary Swank puts on womens clothes and pretends she's a girl. I'm not fooled!
Am I the only one who found her attractive in Boys Don't Cry? I am, aren't I?
I got this yesterday and saw lots of things that looked good, but I'm getting overwhelmed with my makeup stash. When I wear a full face, it's to go out somewhere and usually I don't allow myself a lot of time to play around.
I like collecting it more than anything else. Sometimes I wonder what the heck is wrong with me! Why don't I wear this stuff and if I don't, why do I keep buying it?
Anyway, on-topic, I love that Too Faced pink eye shadow...
;P
OH MY GODDDDDDD I WANT THE MUFE AQUA EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn you, temptress.
I'm seriously lusting for the
Smashbox Oasis Shadow and Liner Quad. I am already mentally putting a face together using that, theBalm's Bahama Mama, a little Too Faced Pink leopard, and some coral/pinkish lipgloss lol. ^_^
hi Marty Pauline!
I must admit that I too was tempted by the Kate Von D stuff. I don't watch the show so I didn't even know who she was to begin with but the line is tempting. Although not fab for Spring it'll make a wonderful Fall look :)
I've never tried any of the OB stuff. I've been tempted on occasion but haven't yet dug in!
Thanks for the comment ;) Hope to get to talk to you again soon!
hey mandy ;)
I agree. LOL Well..she does sorta sport the Swank vibe ;)
LOL! You're nuts ;) She was actually kinda hawt in boys dont cry lol!
hmmmm..is that very weird?
;)
hey taryn! *mwah*
I'm surprised it ended up arriving so early. Normally they update the site and later the catalog pops up!
I'm not really overwhelmed as I do use everything in my collection since I do various looks daily and my work environment is not exactly strict considering I'm my own boss. I am however a bit tired of the same things popping up which is good as it saves me some serious cash! I'm just waiting for something good...something as good as what can be found abroad...Japan, Korea, Etc....when is the US cosmetic market going to catch up is my question!
I do the same. I do wear it however sometimes it's "too nice" to spoil so I don't use it which is really ridiculous!
LOL funny you say that as I am loving it too! Is that a new color as I never seen it before?! Wonder if it's that bright in person hmmmm!
lmao rows :) I got you the other collection during friends and family didn't I? The aqua eyes set? Or didn't you get that?! Can't remember :)
hehehehehe :) Tis my job to tempt you!
hiya mistresschimera!
me too! It's been a while since Smashbox has done anything to tempt me but this definately has my vote for cool!
Oh my that face of the day sounds smoking ;) Can I look forward to some shots of you wearing it all? Curious how it'll look!
Woops! I meant to say 'prettiest', not 'pettiest'; don't get me wrong, they're models, so I'm sure that they're all petty bitches, it's just harder to make a judgment on that one.
Haha, I love the CG look best. The others looked tacky, IMO, except for Miss July [my mum's favourite]. I wanted heavy liner and pink blush and lips to be my "summer look," so to speak, so when I saw that Stiles did it for the CG look, I was floored - I wondered how she got the liner to look so flawless, when I'd been trying to perfect it for ages. Watching the video they did totally helped, and I think I may be able to get it right now. :]
All in all, this is my favourite theme - even mum loved it, and thought it very tasteful and cutesy. My new lemmings from this...gotta be Stila's Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30, and Tarte's Natural Swirl Cheek Stain. Def on my birthday list now.
I've also been wanting those KVD palettes. Aren't they just the bee's knees? Think of all the looks one could create - from soft to dramatic...yes. Want. Want. Super want.
xx
And btw, the site's been updated for quite sometime! Maybe it's just because I'm subscribed to Sephora's blog, though.... ^.^
Sure Muse, I'll send you some shots of me with my FOTD idea lol.
~Robin
I'm wondering if George Lucus ever saw this video cause August's costume looks suspiciously like Princess Leia's famous outfit when she was Jabba's slave;)I'm off to check my mailbox so I can be tempted too!
I love the Smashbox Oasis Quad as well even though I'm usually not a huge smashbox fan. I'm also seriously loving the NARS Galapagos Eyeshadow.
Thanks for the youtube link. That video was hilllllarious!
LOL Mandy. Yes I figured you meant as such...must have been your kinder alter ego saying "prettiest" here..you know you meant pettiest ;)
hey sarah ;)
missed you around here.
The theme is cute. I kinda like it.
Lord I've tried perfecting liner myself for ages and never do it so perfectly. Maybe we chalk it up to photoshop!?
This is really a great them not my favorite but I do love it. I picked up the swirl cheek stain for a friend as a gift and was playing around with the tester, definately nice but I wasn't tempted as they run off my face rather quickly, sadly.
They are indeed but they are more a fall look for me what do you think?
I wonder how long they'll be around hmmm!
the site has been updated but not the catalog on the site :) that's what I had meant ;)
hiya robin!
That'd be awesome! Maybe you'd like to do a guest fotd?
hi paige!
LOL hmmm you can never tale ;)
That'd be an idea for a future issue..."star wars theme". I'd be all over that!
hiya Kyl!
Me too. It seems a popular one for sure. I like smashbox ok but I've definately seen better stuff but this quad is calling to me.
NARS Galapagos is on my list too ;)
LOL glad you enjoyed the vid ;)
Thanks for the comment! Hope to hear from you again soon!
Nooo the aqua eyes set was sold out by the time we got to it, bum fluff!
Wow! I like the looks on that catalogue. I'm going to see if I can get it online.
damn. You're right! I forgot about that! Hmm wonder if it's still around!?
hiya pao pao!
Me too :) It'll be up and available soon I'm sure! They normally update the site first so I was shocked to see this before the update :)
The Ludwig palette, its got some neutral tones in there, so for me those could be some really neat looks for school. Beethoven, its pretty bold, but I think that with a light hand could also be nice for day. Otherwise both are really good for fall, and could even be useful for a girl that goes out a lot! I'm really hoping they'll be around long enough so I can get my nerdy paws on them next month.
oh, and I tried Stiles trick last night with the liner, and again for school, and it worked GREAT. I didn't have any liquid liner, so I just used black eyesmudge and black shadow - it turned out really nice. smashbox's jet set [I have really watery eyes, boo] is on my list for liner now. :D
and cheek tints and stains stay on me really well, even when I don't use a powder over it. pretty funny to me since my cheeks are usually the oiliest, but the primer fixes that nicely! if only it did the same for my nose...
I just got mine today!!! I give HUGE kudos to Sephora on this catalog :D :D It's created so many lemmings!!!!
hey sarah!
They both look great. Agreed 100% if you're out and about in the evening these are perfect! I'm more of a gold type during the Summer and evenings out ;)
I'm curiuos myself as some items are always sold out! Wow!
What trick? Do share!
I love smashbox cake eyeliner (Not the jet set the other) it's so awesome!
stains stay on me all day too even without prepping prior to use! I wish powder blush was the same ;)
hi Tanya Annette!
wahooo! I do too it's fab! I'm really shocked they did it so well as the last few catalogs sucked :P
haha, the trick is not to just try to stay on the lash line and flick - you need to make almost a long triangle shape! it's easier to bring the flick out that way! the best brush to use for this is a concealer brush, and then a small detail brush to pack on shadow [if you use the creme/shadow method]. I think I'll have to do a pic/vid tut on this!
and grr! on specktra, some loser said that the palette was just sephora shadows with KVD's name plastered on - skank's pushing her opinions on everyone and basically trying to keep people from buying the stuff. that kinda pisses me off, that she's doing that...she needs to get off her high horse.
otherwise, everyone has GREAT things to say about the line. I'm impressed!
oh, and apparently the tarte swirly one is more of a creme? but I saw swatches on MUA and its just divine. so worth the money!
hey sarah!
aha! I think you need a pic/video tut too lol! I wanna learn I wanna learn!
LOL I didn't read the juicy thread ;) Maybe she's right?! LOL! I don't wanna set any fires lol!
I didn't open it so I wasn't sure. I think you're right. It's creamy and a stain too!
I really like these but wish they had better staying power :P
Happy Weekend!
I'll totally do it! I got my camera back after getting kicked off yearbook [more on that VERY soon], so I'll def do a post on it for you.
haha, its very pretty. after the day I've had, I wish I could buy it for a quick happy fix!
oh my god why what happened?!
Looking forward to watching it/seeing it!
Aww how about a hug? from me?
hehe!
mrr I dunno! she kicked me off just out of the blue! I have some great news that TOTALLY makes up for that little mishap, though. summer is def looking up!
'ello sarah sorry for the delay lovie.
EW that slag! I'll slap her up for you hehe!
Aw good! I'm glad ;) Good news always makes the bad stuff disappear ;)
I await your tutorial my queen =-)
My eyeliner is eager for the cat eye ;)
