Benefit Posietint Review

You've all been eagerly awaiting this review haven't you? Tis my review of Benefit Posietint!

I know, I know you're waiting for me to trash it aren't you? I'm so sorry to disappoint my dears but be prepared to be $28 USD poorer. Come on shell it out. Time to make your donation to Benefit.

Benefit Posietint trumps Benetint in spades and I'm here to give you a raving review. I'm in love. Finally, after much disappointment lately, Benefit has scored and we have a winner!

Posietint is a completely new formula compared to Benetint. It's not creamy as I had originally suspected. It's still very much a liquid stain however it's a tiny bit thicker than Benetint which makes blending a very dreamy experience. Benetint has this uncanny ability to apply streaky and it's a mess to blend at times. I used to have the sincerest love for it but you have to take into consideration that at the time of it's release it was probably one of the only stains on the market which made it a staple product for me. However, as time passed stains began to flood the cosmetic market and much better options (and cheaper at times) were made available so my beloved Benetint got pushed into the cosmetic graveyard on the bottom of my closet where all good cosmetics go to pass away and possibly wither away and die or maybe, if they are lucky, get some love from me in the distant future.

Without Flash: Posietint vs Benetint

Posietint

Posietint vs Benetint

Now we have Posietint and a skeptical Muse purchased it hoping for the best but preparing herself for the very worst. The worst hasn't come. Posietint is everything it promises to be and more.

The Muse hearts Benefit's cute instructions that they include with all their products lately!

As I mentioned above it blends beautifully and it's a very natural pink color. The general idea of the pink had people hyper considering that Benetint applies more red than pink. Rest assured that the pink is much more natural than the reddish tinge of Benetint. The color applies sheer at first but can be quickly built up to a deeper color should you desire it. In my FOTD below I used three stripes across each cheek, blended and reapplied again with the same amount to achieve the deeper pink you see.

I think that Benetint applies much better on the lip area than Posietint does. I wasn't thrilled with the results of Posietint on my lips at all as it appears too sheer. My lips are already a pink hue so placing the stain on top didn't do much. I felt like Benetint definately wins in the lip staining department.

Possibly the best part of the product is of course the fantastic staying power. It's not going anywhere until you remove it. Once it's on, it's on. For good.

All in all Benefit Posietint is a BIG winner. I love Benefit and I'm constantly on a roller coaster ride of ranting and raving about their products but in this case, Benefit Posietint gets a big Muse Approval for purchase! I love it and think it's worth purchasing for yourself!

For my below FOTD I tried to be as minimal as possible. I skipped foundation and concealer so be gentle. I was trying to do the really natural look.

I'm basically using Posietint on my cheeks and lips plus a hint of mascara and a very light touch of Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lumnious Eyeshadow in Miami Ice on my eyes!

I did two versions of the FOTD one of which was without gloss and one with gloss.

Here's what I came up with:

With Gloss

Without Gloss:

I KNEW I forgot to try out something while at the mall scoring MAC Neo Sci-Fi goodies. I wanted to swing by Sephora try out Posietint but I was on such a MAC rush when I left Nordstroms that it completely slipped my mind. lol @_@

You're cheeks looks have such a pretty pink flush to them. LOVE IT!!! :)

Oh yeah oh yeah...

I have waited patiently for this review and it seems to have been worth the wait as it looks mighty beautiful on you.

I'm actually tiring of my benetint and it's about to be married to my friend so i might consider this a replacement to use underneath my Orgasm blush.

But....as usual, i'm wondering if its gonna show up on my skin. Peeps keep telling me to stop using pink blushes and try orange ones like Nars Taj Mahal...but who on earth actually turns orange when they blush eh? :)

hey Allysia-May!

Thank you kindly missus! I used to hoard benetint big time ;) but I've seen love lost my relationship with it!

ooOooo Orgasm and this! A marriage most lovely!

I dunno how well it'll pop up on your skin! Maybe swatch in store before shelling out the $

Honey use any color you like! Who cares what peeps say! I hate when people tell me what I shouldn't and should wear :P It's a pet peeve of mine!

Exactly! Blushing is NOT orange tis pink cheeked :)

hehe!

I <3 the Solar Bit Pigments. They are really, REALLY worth it. Scatterays is a really pretty golden peach that is works well as a cheek and high bow color. Heck, I am wearing it alone today allover the eye with black mascara and it looks awesome. XD I also picked up Black Ore which is a gorgeous black with gold sparkles in it. It should make a great smoky eye.

To be honest though, only a few colors from the actual Neo line struck out to me...I picked up an eyeshadow (Expensive Pink which is re-promote and one of my all time favorite MAC eyeshadow colors) and the Sci-Fi Delity lipstick (LOVE the not quite red with gold lustre of it). The other colours are either similar to what I own already or in the case of the brown Asral lipstick, would never wear.

I do love the bright neon orange packaging!!!

Wow, that was quite a babble from me lol. XD

i looked for it last Sat but it wasn't in any Sephora or Benefit counters here in Toronto :(

I am somewhat tempted...but I wonder if it would show up on my rather pigmented lips? Do you think a stain like this could be used in conjunction with MAC Lip erase? Somehow I feel that a stain might make the lip erase look cakey on lips...

Hi musey! posietint looks great on your lips =D any nice dark red stains to recc? I haven't tried benetint but i have stila's cherry crush, it's lovely but goes on too bright on my lips for my liking. Would benetint be bright on the lips? I don't really know any other stains on the sg market, i saw that estee has a dark red one but i have no idea if it's available locally. =(

It's probably going to be out June on counters and in Sephora :)

It was disappointing on my lips. I like benetint better. On my cheeks was great but lips was a disappointment!

I think erase paste and this together would make a mess :P If you're using it for lips only I'd skip it lovie!

hiya helena!

Thanks :) Revolon makes those just bitten stains for the lips and I rec those if you want a bit of a budget beauty fine. They give you that just kissed look. Good stuff. Stila Cherry Crush is another fav of mine and looks gorgeous on the lips. I also like the liquid cheek stain from vincent longo in Baby Boo and Liquid Kiss, these both look beautiful on the lips :)

And if you can search it down, MAC made some stains a while ago that were amazing on the lips :)

Benetint is dark on the lips too so you might be disappointed :P

Have you tried a lighter touch and a bit of gloss with Cherry Crush to soften the look?

My fav. Aussie brands are Becca and Nvey Eco. OK, Nvey WOULD be my favorite if they lowered the prices. Sue Devitt is alright, but a bit pricey and disappointing.

Not a good idea to indulge if you never tried stain before lovie. Too expensive just to try it ya know?
