MAC The Originals Con Gratis

I faced the demons, the mad rush, and the evil Christmas shoppers and even Joe Torre (Seriously. He was sitting on one of the benches by the water fountain in the mall! To be honest I'd never have known it was him if my friend hadn't said "HOLY SH*T It's JOE TORRE!" Hey, a man's gotta shop right? Even if he's a New York Yankee!) to head to the MAC counter and explore the wonders and delights that is The Originals Collection.

And I'm here to say.......................

It's just as boring as I originally blogged about. Click here to read my first impression of this collection.

So...

I went, I saw, and I conquered.

The good news is I did get some of The Originals Collection because my darling, sweet, lovely, gorgeous MA gifted me with her "gratis" bag of The Originals. I didn't purchase a single item while I was there but she just handed me her entire bag. I was gobsmacked at her generosity. To be utterly honest I went to the counter for two reasons: 1. To purchase Parrot and 2. To give my MA some truffles I had purchased for her for Christmas.

I ended up not buying anything as she came tearing out as soon as she seen me with the bag full of The Originals.

The really good news is I did fall in love with two of the items in the bag which was the Antique Gold and Blackened Red glitters! The rest was not so great (I feel so incredibly guilty for saying that as I'm eternally grateful for what a sweetie she is to me all the time).

Beautiful! My favorite in the lot! Blackened Red and Antique Gold Glitters

Here's the items that she gifted to me:

I'm not sure how I'm going to make some of this work because some the colors are just not me. To be honest a majority of The Originals Collection just wasn't Muse friendly! But I am very happy to have some of it to play with!

In the bag was Parrot which I'm properly chuffed to have a 3rd pot of because as I explained 2 pots of Parrot weren't enough to get me through my lifetime!

Here's the rundown:

Eyeshadows
Parrot-Gorgeous! Need I say more?
Charred-Quite a nice color for a smokey eye! I can definately make use of this guy!
Daisychain-Kinda blah. I actually though this would be much better in person but sadly it's just a really meh shade of pale yellow! Good for a highbrow highlighter I guess!
Clue-I don't even have a name for this! It's sorta a brownish gray! Not so fab at all! This will be difficult to work with!

Lipglass
Full on Lust-Not so great. It's a rather boring matte muddy rose color!

Lipstick
Chinz on Chinz-A soft chocolate color that I'm liking! I could make this work I think!
Nouveau Fro-A really awful beige mod color! I'm going to need to do some serious thinking on how to fit this into a look!

Glitters
Antique Gold Beautiful! Wouldn't have purchased myself but happy to have this!
Blackened Red Lovely! Was definately on my "maybe" list and I'm happy to have a jar!

Overall, this is kinda fun as there aren't many colors in the bag I'd have chosen for myself so now I'll have a fun challenge trying to fit these into looks for myself!

The Originals Collection isn't exactly what I hoped for but since I got some of it free I can't complain too much ;)

A big thanks to my MA for spoiling me something awful!

...yep. I'm just like you: this collection is somethin' awful boring. I've never understood the insanity behind Parrot. I refused to spend eighty or more dollars on a singular eyeshadow and even looking at it now, I still don't think I'm going to buy it.

The one thing I think I'm gonna get is Blackened Red. It's just beautiful.

I really like Russian Red but it's the wrong red for my skin coloring. Just like the Armani Black Gem lipstick this year, goddammit. I mostly want it for the beautiful lipstick casing which is precisely why I haven't blown forty dollars on a single lipstick. Not yet at least.

Today I got my Chanel Blue Satin! And oh my dear god, it's the deepest darkest purest ultramarine blue I've ever seen in a nail polish. It's so beautiful that it just bitch-slapped me the moment I painted it on my nail. So hopefully I can buy a backup bottle before the millions of makeup whores out there go crazy because some Hollywood bitch's wearing it on her nails. Remember the Black Satin craze? That was just unreal.

Ahaha, you know what? I'm so going to send you my stupid devil horn picture in a second! My e-mail'll be from Jonesyohs at Gmail dot com (fuckin' spam bots). My account's named after my squirrel Gary Jones (Jonesy for short). After I wash my hair I'll try to get you my FOTDs too. I'm going to attempt to recreate Givenchy's Artycolor look (watch me FAIL) and Sephora's Brilliant Sorceress even though Rocket Queen's was absolutely gorgeous and mine will probably be utter crap compared to hers.

You know, I just ordered my Chanel Blue Satin on the seventeenth. It came today, the twenty-first. I ordered my Armani Black Gem mascara on the fifth or the sixth; so where the blue hell is the goddamn stuff?! bastards. GIMMIE MY MASCARA NOW!

.....i'm okay. really.

Anyhows. I'm in the middle of watching a bunch of "CSI" episodes and wishing they were "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" episodes instead. Nothin' against any of the CSIs, particularly New York, but I'm on the biggest goddamn DS9 kick right now it stopped being amusing a looooong time ago. I can't stop thinking about it. I'm actually considering getting a photo-realistic combadge tattooed on the left side of my chest. Please brain me in the head, I need it.

I shall shut the hell up now.

Have a good evening, dear!

hi Angelique!

Ya :( Sadly it's not that exciting!

I do love parrot :) and I partake of the parrot pandemonium as it is a great color!

and I don't mind spending $14.50 on MAC shadows are man are they pigmented ;)

The Blackened Red can easily be used as a color itself. It's quite pigmented and yum!

Russian Red is sadly a no go for me. It's matte and not very moisturizing to my lips so I have to steer clear ;(

I'm somewhat scared of reds!

I got blue satin too and it is gorgeous! I was one of the nuts going crazy for black satin ;) I'm glad to have both in my collection as they are truly yummie colors. Even though my nails are ragged at best most days I still really love some of the colors Chanel does ;)

I got the pic! Thanks!!!!!!!!!! =) I loved it! You're gorgeous ;)

Linn looks gorgeous in all her looks ;-) I loved her Sephora dup! Her face is made for bright colors!

Holiday back up with shipping and such :( I know the feeling!

Enjoy telly ;)

Have a good day!!!!!!!

hi Anonymous

Clue is rather blah. It just is. Not much special about it sadly :(

Browns and taupes make my eyes pop so I'm somewhat in love with 'em too ;)

Thanks for your comment!
