MuseTV Presents: MAC Antiquitease Color

MAC Antiquitease Color popped up in stores today and of course the Muse walked as fast as her little legs could carry her to get her haul of Antiquitease goodies!

The entire collection is quite lovely with very few misses and quite a few hits!

MAC Antiquitease

I ended up purchasing the lot of mineralized shadows duos, one lipglass, one lipstick, all the pigments, the new fluidline, and a plushlash!

The shadows are stunning and these are as great as the Flashtronic shadows (sorry I had a brain fart while filming the video and I had said the last shadow collection with mineralized shadows was Rushmetal! Apologies :) I had meant Flashtronic!).

Almost all of the shadows have a gorgeous bold silver veining that runs through the shadow and have quite a dose of shimmer. I've already applied some on my eye and that silver veining contains quite a healthy pop once your brush connects with it! Gorgeous!

Mi' Lady appears to be my favorite of the bunch so far because of it's ultra bold red and purple coloring. Yum! I'm eager to create a look with this! Don't let the red fool you though as the color actually shows almost orange on the the eye! It's very interesting color!

Mi' Lady

Family Silver is going to a be nice base shadow or highlighter for me as the colors are lighter in this shadow as compared to the others in this collection.

Mineralized Eyeshadow in Family Silver

Silversmith and Engaging are both beautiful colors as well. Silversmith is a wonderful duo of silver and gold while Engaging has a very pretty peachy pink color and a bronze.

The only duo that has me wondering whether I am loving it or not is Earthly Riches. It's a bit of a darker duo and I'm unsure how it'll look but I grabbed it anyway at the risk of it selling out before I can make my mind up (I can always swap it off later if I hate it!).

The star of the lipglasses and the lipsticks were the too outrageously bold red colors offered which were Red Romp and Queen's Sin. I'm not one for red lipstick but Queen's Sin was calling my name when I laid eyes on it! It's quite a nice shade of red and perfect for the Holiday Season! Royal Romp is going to look amazing over it! I was in high debate whether to grab the Royal Romp Lipglass because it reminded me so much of Boundless In3D lipgloss but turns out that Royal Romp is a more subdued maroon when compared to the brighter, truer red of Boundless!

Royal Romp and Boundless (You can see the difference between the two)

The pigments are all quite nice and I'm loving Your Ladyship best as it reminds me of a beefed up Provence with tons more shimmer.

Gold Stroke is a nice brown with bits of gold swirled in. The website says it's bits of red but I'm seeing gold. Sweet Sienna is a grey color with silver shimmer and again I have to disagree with the website as it says it's a brown color with grey pearl but I don't see any brown in it!

Your Ladyship, Gold Stroke, and Sweet Sienna

Finally I grabbed Uppity Fluidline which is gold in color. This will make a great base color and is perfect for the holidays and will look great combined with some of my other gold collections!

Uppity Fluidline

Overall, I'd say the collection is utterly wearable and very pretty! I'm loving all of it! I did skip on many of the lipglasses and lipsticks because they were just too nude in color for me so those in my opinion aren't worth the purchase however everything else is a go and the Muse says get to your counter and grab some of this before it's gone!

The holiday collections are full on and more collections will be popping up very soon! To keep you nice and organized here's what you can expect from MAC in the next few weeks:

So glad MAC finally has a collection that I'm not too scared to even look at. usually their color stories are so dramatic, it frightens me, as i am an everyday-corporate-full suit kind of girl.

You know, I actually think Earthy Rich is one of my favoriates! bcuz it can work as a great shadow right above my lash line.

The lipglass.. omg.. soo yummy!!! I am definitely going to try to pull of a red mouth look this winter. Maybe this would be my choice.

Absolutely LOVE the pigments!!! too bad i don't know how to work them... Colors are beautiful!! especially sweet sienna. I can definitely see a grey-ish eye shadow with some pink to sweeten it up, then a right on flaming red lip.

FOTD! FOTD! GIVE ME MORE~!!! lol..

Love your new layout and am so excited for all of your upcoming projects. can't wait to see what u gonna pull out the hat this time. u always manage to surprise us!

p.s. take some pix of your doggies~~ i wanna seee...

Hi there! Wow, I looove this collection! Silversmith is a must to me. And the Uppity, and the...no, no, wait, bills first!

I linked to you from my blog about the V kit, hope that's okay with you. By the way, I love the new design! But I also loved the old, mysterious one...

Hi Muse-y,

Oh woe is me! I went on a whim and ordered Earthly Riches on Tuesday night. (For the purple). This was before I saw proper swatches- it looks so dark! I really wish I had gone with Mi' Lady but my bank account is seriously dwindling... I still might get that- again for the purple. I thougth the red looked too harsh but not so much now. Betsy said the red color might work as a blusher with a very light touch- I may try that!

Thanks for the youtube vid and blog on these- love them as always! ;)

Sincerely,
Sarah

Hello my love!

How are you? I seen pics of your dog on your blog! Too cute!

You're right about MAC it does have quite a few "clubber" kinda colors! And even some of these aren't so great for an office but some are very nice for an understated, elegant look!

Earthy Riches will make a pretty good smoky eye or a liner look! I'm surprised you think it might be a fav! I'm loving Mi' Lady at the moment ;)

I'm trying to pull off a red mouth too hehe. I always look fat and clownish with red lippie on but today I'm going for it ;) FOTD pics soon! You have to give me your honest opinion when you see!

The pigments are quite nice ;) GOOD idea! Pink and Sweet Sienna should work up a treat! Oh the Muse Likes that idea!

LOL!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you're enjoying the FOTD's!!!!!!! You need to do a guest one! You're so gorgeous and your makeup is so very elegant and perfect! You'd make a great guest FOTD ;) Think about it!

I'm so glad you like the new layout! Some people are still getting used too it, myself included :)

Awww I try to keep you all your toes hehe :)

Oh my gosh yes :) FOTD's of the puppies hehe!

Many hugs!

Hey Sarah ;)

Well I think you'll be ok as it looks like it'll make a great liner or smoked out eye! But if you hate it you can always swap it on MUA for Mi' Lady or return it in store!

Betsy it's a genius! It'll make a great blusher! It comes out more orange bronze than red!

Thanks sweetie! Glad you love both the vid and the blog :)

Many Hugs!

hey, great haul im very jealous antiquitease isnt out here yet! i was just wondering how does red romp compare to venetian red lustreglass?

Blogger the Muse said...

hey zoe :)

I owe you a few messages love! Sorry for my delayed replies!

Venetian red seems more truer a red to me. I don't actually own it just seen it in store. Red Romp is more deeper and off red!

Hope this helps ;)

Hugs!

Oh my!!! You got them!!! I'm so jealous now! I've this urge to buy all the e/s now. I love the Flashtronic range and you saying that they are just as great, makes me want to buy them. Only Silversmith and Earthly Riches make me wonder if I should get them. I wana rob you! :P

P.S. Your pictures of the e/s look quite different from the ones on MAC website. :S

hey serene :)

I did indeed! ;) I gotta say the eyeshadows are just fab! They are really doing a great job lately with these mineralized shadows!!!!!!!!!!

Silversmith is probably one you can skip and earthy riches as well but the other three are yummie!

hehe come over ;) I'll make tea while you casually nick my eyeshadows hehe!

MAC website always seems weird when it comes to swatches and color descriptions at least to me it does! But I'm no expert I just sort of slop around with this stuff really amateur like :) Give you the real girl take ;)

When you get these/see them you're going to love the silver lining! Just amazing!

My dear Muse,

Thank you for putting your haul up! Now that I'm seeing this in person, I can absolutely, definitively say that there's no way in bloody hell I'm buying most of this collection. My skintone is the complete opposite of what this collection is made up of and the only colors that will even work with it are the Family Silver and Silversmith eyeshadows and the Royal Romp/Queen's Sin lip combo and Royal Romp's going to be pushing it in terms of 'will this clash with my complexion/skin coloring?'.

I'm really missing MAC's more cool-toned collections. I adored Blue Storm last month and I still need to snatch up the rest of the shadows and grab up the new eyeliners. I can understand them putting out more warm-toned collections, however, since most women (that I've encountered, anyway) are generally warm-to-warn-neutral in skintone.

(well, that and i've met huge amounts of women who have this bizarre thing with tans. they use all manners of self-tanners and bronzers to try and get darker and most of my female classmates in high school actually succeeded in turning themselves bright orange. as someone with fairly dark skin--my birth mother was hispanic-- it just confuses the bleedin' hell out of me. i've had girls stop me in the hallways to tell me "Oh you've got such pretty skin!" it would've been flattering had they not been stroking my arm like Buffalo Bill in 'Silence of the Lambs'. hell, i've always wanted lighter skin so the colors i'm in love with will actually read as that color on me, instead of a muted version of what does show up.)

Anyhow...thank you for posting this! I may end up not buying anything from Antiquitease (oh GOD how I hate that name) at all and save my money for something else that comes along.

Now! I shall go and read the rest of your blog, m'dear!

hey angelique ;)

I'm behind in my comments forgive me please.

Gosh I'm glad that this helped and you aren't ending up with any! I think the MAC site is deceiving with the swatches so it's hard to say what is a go and what isn't so I always try to pop on store to see! And I know that's difficult for you so I'm happy this post helps you decide on what to not purchase!

Blue Storm was very nice but it was a tad difficult to use as well! have to be careful with it as it tends to create the "bruised eye" effect!

I hate tanners and bronzers :) My skin type is medium but luckily my face is a bit on the lighter side plus I have my little beauty arsenal full of items to lighten it further. I think a darker-medium skin type for me makes my face look more full than it already is :( So my normally double chin becomes a quad of chins lol!

The good new sis the palettes release next week so that'll give you a chance to say YAY or NAY to these!

Love ya :)
I have to reply to your other comments!

Don't think I forgot you :)
Hugs!

Oh. My. God. I think it's the 1000th time I check this post out! I'm dying to see Antiquitease live! In Sweden, we have to wait for ages sometimes...so I hope it will arrive fairly soon anyhow so that my poor heart is calmed! But maybe it won't be so calmed after all when I see my wallet after splurging... Haha! Silversmith is a must. And Queen's Sin! Uppity as well. And Red Romp...oh dear. Love the video, thanks!
