Jill Stuart Seductive Eyes Summer 2008

Jill Stuart has updated it's website with a very small Summer Collection. Sadly, it's nothing to get too excited about.

The releases include a new Seductive Eyes Palette in 05 Gemmy Diva and two liglosses in Marguerite Glow and Gleaming Nectar.

Any other day I'd be bouncing around in excitement that a new palette has been introduced but I am slightly wary of the color combinations that they keep releasing. I'd love something new. This particular palette is similiar to the Holiday Coffret's release. I'm very tempted as the two colors on the left seem to be very nice Summery shades however it's nothing I can't recreate or don't already have from prior palette releases.

Holiday Palette

As much as I absolutely adore Jill Stuart I can't help but yawn and as you can see above the palette is very similar to the Holiday release!

I'll definately be purchasing this palette but please, Jill, if you're listening, can we have some new color combos?

The palette is 5,000 yen (did the price raise on these? I recall them being a tad bit lower last year!) and each lipgloss is 2,800 yen!

I think it's safe to assume these are out and available at counters now or will be shortly since the site has been update very recently!

Wanting this collection?

As bored as the Muse?

I agree with you on this collection, I have been bored with Jill Stuart's collections lately. I still love the blush, but will wait to see what's coming out for fall.

dear isabella,

it's not only JS, but i see that most eye palettes now the colour combos are quite alike with what they have released before, like Kate. >_< i am rather annoyed by this fact due to the fact i love collecting palettes and enjoyed using them very much! (i think i've ditch the singles :P)

i wish they can come up with something different, wearable but unique colors like maybe pairing purples with greys or blacks, instead of the usual variation of purples or pairing with warmer hues of pink?

loves,
plue

JS is pretty pricy but the packaging makes me swoon!

JS needs to copy the counterfeit color combos no?!?!?!

xx

hey miss plue!

Agreed 100%. I see alot of rotating color combos. Either that or we have too much makeup hehe!

I never liked palettes but I suddenly started collecting and realized how much better they were. Color combos that worked, alot more product for my money, etc....

I still buy singles but I adore palettes ;)

I'd love more palettes that contained more shimmering shades. It always seems palettes have pearl/matte shades. I agree purple with black/grey would be wonderful!

The new MAC palettes look great but boring sigh!

Keep praying hard to the gods of makeup and maybe we'll get our wish ;)

loves you!

Hugs! Thanks again for the comment! Hope to talk to you again soon!

me love shimmery colours too! that's why i love kate very much!

i haven really tried out my MJ e/s, and I'm thinking whether to get the palettes or not... the colour combo other than the LE green, others aren't really interesting >_<

JS isn't available here, i wish it is... getting it from ichibankao.com cost me a bomb! equivalent to getting something from the high end counter ady ~

plue

good morning plue!

Sorry 'bout my delayed reply :)

Have you tried any lavshuca? they are shimmery bliss!

I keep meaning to do a write up about mj palettes for you! I'm sorry! I get swamped to say the least. MJ shadows and palettes aren't as shimmery as JS, KATE, and Lavshuca ;P

I love 'em but they aren't nearly as shimmering as other Japanese brands!

It's a bit expensive even in Japan at the moment :( You can get two palettes for the cost of just one JS :(

sigh!

i haven tried my MJs, so can't really say for sure. But seriously, JS is that exp too in JP? i thought it was a bit more expensive than MJ only!
am trying to get my hands on lavuscha, but the colour palettes dun really seem to interest me. >_< especially the noble eye series... any recommendations?

hey there plue!

Yes indeed!!!!!!!!! Very! Tis about $50 USD per palette!!!!!!!!!! No no no! MJ is drugstore price but JS is much more pricey as it's counter makeup!

lavshuca is interesting but the noble eye series isn't so great. I have a review of them here.

The older palettes are way nicer! I also like the single shadows they do.

Check out my old lavshuca posts and you'll see the color selections I have ;)

i have in mind the Lavshuca Gradate Color Select in GY-1 and also Lavshuca Eye Color Select! But haven decided the colour yet, as most of palettes ady have those colour~ sigh~~~

That palette IS pretty.. darn I´m almost positive I commented on a pic yesterday with Gem Amethyst on it.. can't find now, but anyway, I'll ask again : ). I didnt find the quality of that palette too good, how do you feel about it? I mean it was over 60$.. and yes, I asked if you use those colors moist or do they function that way? Those new palettes (fall 08) are pretty, but if the quality is like that.. hmmm. I'm off to post office for a package from Hong Kong...YEEEAAAAAAA. : )))

hi mizz x!

I agree :)

You did! I just got to replying now ;) Hehe! Sorry 'bout that!

The texture is meant to be chalky as it adheres better to oily eyes which many asian girls suffer from ;)

The formula/texture is weird but with propping and prepping of the eye area it actually blends very well and goes on silky and smooth. But yes it does kinda get messy sometimes with application! just apply very slowly and it should work well :)

Def don't use them moist..you'll ruin the shadows in the palette :P

WAHOOO! whatcha get whatcha get ;)

Hugs!
Happy Weekend!
