Spooky Time at Lush Cosmetics

Lush Cosmetics is getting into the spirit of Halloween and is offering a Limited Edition Shower Gel to haunt your shower this season! They have fittingly named it Ghost.

Ghost supposedly has a floral, lily of the valley scent. Count the Muse as being intrigued about the scent and wanting a bottle. I'm not normally one for floral scents but I'm curious.

Prices are not set yet and this is available via North America Mail Order only I believe. If you want to nab a bottle head on over to the following link and fill out your information to be alerted when it'll be available for purchase!

Hopefully we don't all love it because it is limited edition so when it's gone, sadly it's gone (either that or this is a gimmick to get us all to buy 10 bottles each and drown ourselves in a shower gel we might not even like the smell of).

I wonder if it glows in the dark...hmmm...

Hi Muse,

The Ghost does sound intriguing. I haven't been hooked on Lush yet, but I'm certain it's now only a matter of time.

Your red FOTD looks fun!

I can't believe you don't own anything from Chantecaille! It used to be my favorite brand until I discovered Lunasol. There's a very nice MA in NY named Ernesto (he was featured in a Lucky article) at the Chantecaille counter there.

I am counting down the days until I can plan on my Givenchy arriving. I live in the beautiful midwest so it's likely going to be here on Fri or Sat. I hope yours arrived & you are having lots of fun with it!

I heard the Guerlain collection has just started to arrive at stores this week. My Guerlain MA just called.

Cheers,
Betsy

hey betsy ;)

I love hearing from you! Makes my night after a really stressful day!

The Ghost has me very curious! If you never, ever tried Lush and you love sweet fruity scents I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend getting some Snow Fairy Shower Gel during Christmas! it's only around for christmas but god it's addicting stuff!

Thanks ;) I slapped that together really fast this morning!

Nope not a thing. Too expensive lol! The palettes are like $85 each! Way above my price range heeh!

OOOOOOOOOOOOO I thought you lived in New York DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing yet :( Sad smile! I could have really used it today as a pick me up!

I normally purchase Guerlain online so I haven't any MA *sniffle*

I must go and stalk to sites and see if it's up hehe!

God things get closer and closer to the beginning of October for Christmas now! Good and kinda sad that the season is so rushed!

Hugs!

Hi Muse,

Sorry to hear your day was so stressful. Boo. I don't like days like that. I've had my fair share of them.

Hm...I shall have to look at the Snow Fairy shower gel. I am not a huge fruity fan but I sometimes like it. I'm more of a jasmine girl but my tastes are eclectic.

I'm not a huge fan of the early holiday season. By the time New Year's rolls around I have "holiday fatigue." It's not even Halloween and there are Christmas things everywhere! Insane.

I am impressed by your mu skills! My version of rushing is eyebrow powder, concealer, powder, and red lipstick while running out the door.

No...I sadly don't live in NY. I have visited and loved it! I really like Cuban cuisine which is lamentably hard to come by here in the midwest. I just found a very nice Saks SA who makes sure I am informed of the Givenchy collections.

But the midwest is very nice too. Where I live there is no sales tax on clothes, shoes, coats, anything deemed a "necessity" to live. Which is why we're such a popular shopping state. Plus the people are just genuinely nice.

Chantecaille is expensive but they got me hooked when I was in DC and met a fab MA. She did such an awesome look and the products are very nice. My MA here keeps me hooked up - if you ever want a sample of anything, just let me know. =D

Bummer about the Givenchy...I hope it arrives soon. Everyone needs a warm fuzzy each day.

Happy stalking the sites! Hopefully they will post the Guerlain before it all sells out. My MA said some items were already selling out with the presales. Neimans is having another beauty event starting next Thurs.

Also on MAC with the code "GLOSS" you can get free shipping the rest of the year.

Hope this helps cheer you up!

Hugs & cheers!

hey love.

ugh you have no idea. a nervous breakdown awaits me on the other side of this rainbow ;)

This is fruity to the max! it's quite yummie and sickeningly addicting ;)

Jasmine is a lovely scent ;)

gosh the holidays aren't even touching me this year everything seems like a major chore. How horrible is that???? I'm normally way excited about them but this year I'm more along the lines of whatever.

Around this time last year I had my house decorated for Halloween, goodie bags at the ready, etc...this year I didn't even buy a pumpkin!

Talk about killjoy behavior ;)

I guess I'm mostly dead tired and emotionally drained to bother myself at the moment!

So I totally understand holiday fatigue ;) hell it isn't even hear yet and I'm dreading it hehe!

gosh thanks. my mu skills are rubbish even when I am not rushing hehe!

Saks has tons of pretty nice reps some are snotty but some are really outstanding. It's good you found someone to keep you up to date.

If you leave out west you must have some massive mall somewhere ;)

Cuban? hehe I'll ups some your way :)

I've never even tried Chantecaille. I'm scared to fall in love with another expensive brand hehe!

AWW thank you! I truly appreciate that!

Me too :( I could use the pick me up! Maybe tomorrow :)

I'm going to call tomorrow. I'm actually trying to monitor myself in regards to what I buy at the moment. I really need to crack down on myself! But I'll probably cave even when I know I shouldnt!

What's Neiman's offering anything good? The Saks and Nordies totes didn't really wow me.

Thanks!!!!!! that's a great code :) *squeal* good one thanks ;)

Hugs and thanks for always keeping me up to date!

Hi Muse,

One last quick note before I attempt to sleep but am definitely wired. Word to the wise: tiramisu has more caffeine than one would think...

Very sorry about the waiting nervous breakdown. I've had a few days where I wondered how I didn't end up in a padded room.

Sephora.com looks like it is posting the Guerlain holiday collection. Just thought you'd like to know...

Yes, we do have a massive mall here. Lol. I avoid it from Thanksgiving until New Year's. I am hoping we get Ruehl, Mango, and Mexx sooner rather than later. I was happy we finally got an Ikea.

Hopefully you can emotionally recharge and enjoy the Halloween spirit. I find Sprinkles cupcakes to work wonders. Or Magnolia cupcakes. And watching lots of MASH episodes on DVD.

Neimans hasn't posted the GWPs yet. They have events in between their Beauty Weeks (the weekend after Labor Day & 1st full weekend in March) called "InCircle Events." Usually the GWP is nicer than the Beauty Event ones, but there's no double dipping. There's also a higher spend with it. Always a catch.

I haven't figured out the timing of InCircle but Neimans also always has a GWP around Mother's Day and then one close to Christmas around $80.

To give you an idea of the GWP, last time Chantecaille had for $150 (not hard to get there) a small makeup case, full size lipstick, full size eyeshadow, deluxe skincare cream, mini lipgloss, and perfume samples.

Hope it gets better! You have my morale support.

Hugs & cheers!

hey betsy :)

LOL no tiramisu before bed! got it!

LOL believe me I know the feeling! I'll be alright I just need to get myself organized the last few weeks has been insanity!

Oh my! I looked but didn't see anything yet. Eagerly awaiting it!

wahoo for massive malls! our nearest ikea is somewhere in jersey land lol. Wish we had one here be easier than traveling across the bridge!

We have Ruehl, Mexx, and not sure about Mango but none if it fits the Muse's butt ;)

I'm not much of a Neiman's shopper I'm more of a Nordie's girl so this entire inner circle thing sounds interesting!!!!!!!! Nordies normally doubles points during certain sales and such which accumulates a nice Nordie Note here and there :)

Ooo that sounds good! Full size eyeshadow from Chantecaille? Stop tempting me damnit!

;)

Aw thanks love! I appreciate the support.

Hugs!

Hey Muse,

Just wanted to drop a note about LUSH since I visited the store on 34th and b'way last night.

I bought Fresh Farmacy and a mask (forgot the name.. but it's for combo skin to clear out the pores). I've got to say though, the SA's in there aren't THAT nice, full of New Yorker attitude.

Aside of the face stuff, I saw some bath bombs I wanted to get (those things are HUGE! and they said I should use the whole thing in one bath, what?!) and the Snow Cake, oh so yummy.. but over all, I felt most of the scents were too sweet and fruity for my taste, I'm more of a flower-y girl.

When I mentioned that I wanted to use Ocean Salt on my face, they said it was way too harsh and will make my face red. Then when I said I liked using Ultra Bland on my face, then rinse it off with warm water and loved how it acted like a moistorizer, they critised me for leaving "cleanser" on my face. Ok there, so much for being open minded?

But I did turn my friend, who've never heard of LUSH before, to try Baby Face and AOBS, since she has sensitive skin and dry patches. I will see how she likes it.

I think for most people, including me, LUSH is a very different brand and you have to learn a whole new way of taking care of your hair, face and body. It's hard to change routines our mothers taught us. But it's such a great feeling whenever I don't hear people talking about Shiseido or Clinique (maybe it's an Asian thing, but that's all I hear when I ask girls what they use on their face, nothing against those brands though).

by the way, the video helped a lot! I guess I was trying to get all the grainy good stuff on my face, so I didn't want to rub in the water in my palm to turn into paste, but I finally did it! and the result is as always, soft glowy skin. =)

Thanks Muse~

Stephanie hello dearie :)

Oh my gosh can I tell you that I never ran across a Lush shop in New York with friendly SA's! I can't stand them! Bloody awful!

The herald square lush is just awful as the girls are clueless as sin!!!!!!!!!!!!

I normally order Lush from the UK and never bother venturing into a store!

I love snowcake....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

The Muse buys big bulky chunks to last her through the year :)

You can crack bombs apart and get two baths if you want but I normally just slap one in and hop in the tub!

They have a few green floral scents ;) Sometimes it's overwhelming in store because everything smells the same after a while but some floral are in there!

Honey don't listen to what they say! I use Ocean Salt on my face at least 4 times or more a week and don't have a prob! If you're a sensitive skin type I'd avoid doing that but if you aren't you can happily use ocean salt without a prob!!!!!!! It's recommend for use on face and body! So tell them the Muse says they are idiots and send kisses with that ;) LOL!

Um that's obscene! I'd have told them thanks but I'm outta here! That's no way to treat a customer grrrrrrrrrr! You do whatever you feel works best for your skin sweetie and don't let a bunch of SA's that probably don't even USE the products tell you what to do!

Let me know how your friend likes it :)

I agree. Lush is a unconventional skincare/haircare/beauty regime. It's entirely different from what we normally do to take care of hair/skin/etc...it does some adjusting to it but in the long run you can see your hair and skin behaving way better!

Haircare from Lush is brilliant as well but it takes time for your hair to adjust to it! In the end it all works out wonderfully for your hair!

It's nice to have a different skincare regime that WORKS for you and something you can recommend to others and have it work for them too! It feels good!

Fantastic! I'm so glad it worked for you! :) I find it works fantastic as a very gentle scrub for the face and I notice that small acne bits on my forehead and chin go away when I use it ;)

I'm so glad the video helped you!

If you ever have any other questions about Lush I am very happy to help you!

Many hugs!
Thanks for all the WONDERFUL comments! I love them and they make my day!

Hi again, sorry for my non-stop LUSH blab, but I think I'm a little addicted to this brand.

I was reading the LUSH Hong Kong and China website, it seems that they have some promotions going on. Like spend HKD450 (appx. USD65) get a free LUSH cosmetics bag, or buy a hair product, then get 40% off some other product (seems like they are promoting the hair product, are they new to the brand?)

then I wondered if I could order from the HK or China website and get the promotional items. Have you tried? Pls take a look, all of the promotional flyers are in English too!

by the way, I totally forgot to stick the Crash Course Mask in the fridge last night. dang it.

Hey Steph

that's quite alright I'm utterly a lush whore so I'm obsessed ;)

China have interesting little bits about! We have promos too but I find the promos on other country sites a bit better plus they have items we don't carry anymore or sometimes special items! I believe it was Denmark or Australia that had originally gotten Honey Hugs (aka Honeywood) Shower Gel before us.

They also have cute totes and cases and such we never get.

I dunno if you can order from China and have it shipped here.

You can order from UK and get it shipped via airmail to US which is what I do. It actually takes a shorter amount of time and comes out to the exact price as I would if I shopped the NA site (slow shipping, poor customer service, and higher prices on NA site).

I'd email CS at HK and ask if they'd be willing to airmail to you! Ya never know ;)

It should be ok :) stick in the fridge right away though!

Hugs darling!

PS if you can't order from HK's website see if they have a forum and if anyone is willing to order the items for you and ship them!

;)

Ask for references of course prior to giving them money for your order!
