Musings of a Muse

A Blog of Musings from a Cosmetic Whore

Jan 29, 2010

It's important to know that so far on our quest for the best concealer I've only reviewed mediocre concealers.

Some were good, some were ok, but none were great.

Until now anyway.

You want great you should reach for Prescriptives Flawless Skin Total Protection Concealer.

Not so long ago in a land far, far, far away the Muse was content, happy, and very much secure in her concealer world. At the time her concealer of choice was Benefit Boi-ing. It's important to know Benefit Boi-ing was my concealer of choice for years and years and years.

Until I turned 30.

Suddenly, my world was turned upside down and I was unable to use my holy grail concealer.

What's a girl to do!?

Benefit Boi-ing is thee most awesome concealer around. I sincerely mean it when I say it was holy grail material. It will cover virtually everything bad going on under your eyes while making you simply perfect in all ways a la the Muse errrr I mean Mary Poppins.

But as I said I got older and I got drier, my eyes got drier that is plus I was now sporting some fine lines. Benefit Boi-ing, dry eyes, and fine lines don't play nicely together sadly. I noticed my concealer was beginning to sink into my fine lines and crease do to dryness.

It was a mess.

So I sadly had to push Benefit Boi-ing aside and search for something else.

Although I've run across good I have yet to run across any holy grail concealers, until now.

This past weekend I packed up Prescriptives Total Protection Concealer and away I went.

And I'm happy to report back it's holy grail material.

Prescriptives managed to fit in all the things I loved about Boi-ing plus SPF 25 minus the creasing!

Yay!

1st off how many concealers do you know that have an SPF 25? Freaking awesome right? That's a BIG plus for me! It's not only concealing but protecting my eye area from harmful UVA/UVB rays!

Now the formula is something to rave about as well. Although it's extremely light that doesn't stop it from being very pigmented and offering excellent coverage for both baggage, dark circles, and fine lines. The texture is extremely creamy, moisturizing, and blends like an absolute dream. The wear is at least 8 hours or more without touch ups in between which means your Muse is flipping cartwheels that I'm not having to sit and touch up every two seconds.

For me, creamy concealer is a total win. It blends evenly, offers better coverage than liquid, is much easier to apply minus the mess, and adheres better and lasts longer. Prescriptives succeeds in all these areas. I'm always very impressed when a cream concealer manages to do what it promises without creasing!

It's understandable why
